Euphoric and incisive electro, the heirs to 2000s indie dance

"If Franz Ferdinand are doing rock music that make people dance, Digitalism are making dance music that make people rock." Resident Advisor Across a career spanning two decades, Digitalism have earned their optimism. As remixers for The White Stripes, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and The Cure, the Hamburg duo — İsmail “Isi” Tüfekçi and Jens Moelle — have built a bridge between electronic music and rock, from the dancefloor to the stage. Their debut album Idealism became a classic, and their early track “Pogo” found new life in 2024 when German rap star Zartmann sampled it, pushing streams past 30 million on Spotify. With their own label, Magnetism, Digitalism now pursue their vision without compromise. Their new album Optimism was born from a simple idea: creating a space beyond politics where everyone can feel included and heard. Written entirely from scratch in their legendary bunker studio, the record blends high-end studio gear with the duo’s signature spontaneity — favouring energy and performance over perfection. For Digitalism, music remains a neutral space where connection happens instantly — proof that even after twenty years, their optimistic pulse still hits just as hard.
