One of the most distinctive voices in today’s afro-fusion scene
"Her own work takes the sound of kuduro in fresh directions, with her effervescent approach touching on the joyous." Clash Magazine Pongo is an Angolan singer, songwriter and performer, recognised as one of the most distinctive voices of the new generation of global contemporary music. Born in Luanda and based in Lisbon since the age of eight, her work reflects a strong connection to identity, culture and resilience. She gained international recognition at 16 with “Kalemba (Wegue Wegue)”. Today, she is a leading Afro-fusion artist, known for high-energy shows across Europe and her standout COLORSxSTUDIOS performance. Winner of the Music Moves Europe Talent Award (2020) and nominated for the 2024 Kora Awards, she blends kuduro, Afrobeats and electronic music into a distinctive contemporary sound. With Sakidila, Pongo Baddie, and “Kuzola” (featured on FIFA 23), she continues to expand globally. In 2026, she returns with “Banana”, merging Afrobeats with a warm, grooving vibe and Patois-infused flow. FOR FANS OF : Amadou & Mariam, Buraka Som Sistema, BCUC Pongo - Banana Pongo - Celebrate BONA LÉA (DJ-SET) Bold, playful & spontaneous BONA LÉA is a multipurpose creative, a fine selector & a DJ with nearly 10 years of experience. Growing up, djing was never in her bucket list but when it randomly came to her, it almost felt like fate . Whether she’s standing behind the decks or holding the aux, she always ensures she channels her audience feelings, leading people to freely release. In a system where DJs are expected to choose a few genres to specialize in, BONA LÉA purposely chooses to embrace the wide range of her taste and its complexity. Still, she mentions major anchor points as Afro rhythms, percussions, broken rhythmics, polyrhythms and Bass . She approaches music openly with curiosity and intuition. Following that intuition allows her to navigate unapologetically between multiple genres during her sets. Moreover, she could never pick a genre because her true talent is to connect them all wisely, track after track, just like you would connect nodes in a network. After 10 years of enjoying the flourishing playground of Belgium, she prides herself with multiple highlights such as her residency at Kiosk Radio , her terrific set at Horst Festival - hosted by Resident Advisor & FOR ALL QUEENS! , her performance at Afropunk Paris & creating Jabanè Sessions, a caring & sharing clubbing space for black people with marginalized gender identities. Wherever you’ll end up crossing paths with her, you’ll find yourself melting down under the cosmic spell of her musical guidance.
