Tickets and checkout

Set up admissions and products

Keep entry tickets, ticket waves, extras, and inventory easy to understand.

Admissions versus products

An admission ticket provides event entry. A product is an extra item such as a voucher or drink. Products do not count toward admission capacity and cannot replace the required admission ticket.

Use clear buyer-facing names. For example, distinguish Standard admission from Drink voucher rather than naming both “Ticket”.

Configure the items

  1. During creation, open Tickets and add your admission types. On a live event, open Tickets & checkout → Admission tickets.
  2. Check the item name, price, quantity, availability, and any ticket waves you use.
  3. Save the ticket editor and confirm the item appears in the saved list.
  4. Open Products for optional extras and check their own quantities and prices.
  5. Review the buyer page before sharing it.

Ticket waves allow a ticket type to have separate configured releases. Review each wave's price, quantity, and availability rather than assuming the main ticket type alone describes everything buyers can purchase.

Example event — manage entry tickets in Tickets & checkout. Products have their own section.

Understand inventory

Capacity is configured admission inventory across ticket types and waves. Issued admissions include paid, free, and existing admission tickets issued through the guest list.

Not yet issued compares that capacity with admissions already issued. It is not a guarantee of immediately buyable stock: reservations and availability rules can reduce what buyers can select.

Make live changes carefully

Save configuration changes deliberately. Check what future buyers see afterward. Do not assume a changed name, price, or availability recalculates orders that have already been confirmed.

See Orders and guests for the difference between existing inventory guest tickets and additional custom guest passes.
